Puppy Weight Predictor

Curious how big your puppy will get? This calculator uses standard breed-size growth curves to estimate your dog's adult weight from their current weight and age.

This is a statistical estimate based on typical breed-size growth curves, not an exact prediction — genetics, sex, and neuter status also affect final size. For a breed-specific estimate, ask your vet.

Larger breeds are more prone to joint and growth-related issues. Getting insured while your puppy is young usually means lower premiums and no pre-existing condition exclusions later.

How this calculator works

Puppies of different adult sizes reach their full weight on different timelines: small breeds mature by about 9-10 months, medium breeds by about 12 months, large breeds by 12-18 months, and giant breeds can keep filling out until 18-24 months. At any given age, a puppy has typically reached a predictable percentage of their eventual adult weight. This tool inverts that curve: it divides your puppy's current weight by the expected percentage of adult weight for their age and size category to estimate the adult weight.
